As it seeks to evade its own institutionalisation, art education encourages exploration beyond predetermined outcomes and remains open to new encounters. Those who work at the intersection of art practice and art education must balance what is known with what is being discovered.
ENGAGE ALL aims to bring together a community of creative persons interested in the links between contemporary artistic practice, art education, socially engaged art and experimental pedagogies. It is intended for artists, teachers, pre-service teachers and others who are involved in creative and pedagogical experimentation, community-oriented initiatives or research on collaborative and interdisciplinary inquiry about the role of the arts in society.
Developed by the University of Malta’s art programmes within the Faculty of Education, ENGAGE ALL shares information about experimental pedagogies and learning strategies (Learning), creative initiatives, exhibitions and workshops (Projects), research (Publications) and relevant events like public lectures (Events). It functions as a showcase of projects by artists and academics and work by postgraduate students and ex-students of the MTL Art and MA Social Practice Arts and Critical Education degrees. ENGAGE ALL also invites contributions from artists, teachers and others in Malta and beyond.
