Studio inquiry

The Studio Inquiry study-units in the MTL degree at the University of Malta form an essential component of the students’ development as ‘artist-teachers’, focusing on research in an independent field of study leading to the production of artworks in a variety of artistic media and reflections about the work’s pedagogical implications. In June, 2024, this yearlong process culminated in the students’ participation in ‘Farfara 2031’, an experimental one-day event in Gharghur, in which several artists performed and presented creative work related to various topics ranging from ecological issues to the strange, temporary appearance of an island on old maps of Malta.
